Editors note: Popular SCRA car owner Bob Michnowicz passed away on
Thursday, May 29th, 1998 at the age of 60. Michnowicz is the father of
SCRA driver Bobby Michnowicz. Below is a brief eulogy written by
Ken "Wagtimes" Wagner, and his sentiments are echoed by everyone
who knew or came into contact with Bob Michnowicz.
Rest in peace, Bob!
A handlebar mustache and ready smile were his life-long trademarks. He
greeted all with a handshake and warm story. A man who knew what he
wanted, Bob always worked hard to achieve his goals. He was dedicated to
his family and his son Bobby's racing career, and never missed a race when
Bobby suited up. He was always looking forward to race day and being at
the track. He lived and died racing and never gave up his passion for the
sport right up until he saw his last checkered flag, the Saturday before he
passed away. Bob's passing leaves a large hole in the Michnowicz family
and the racing community.
